Lt. Gen. Charles E. Croom, Jr., USAF, director, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and commander for the Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO), was the featured speaker at the March luncheon. Gen. Croom gave an overview of some of DISA's strategic functions such as providing interoperable command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems to the White House, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and various Defense Department organizations. Gen. Croom spoke about DISA's "five point" strategy: delivering critical information to the warfighter, providing best value to customers, bringing power to the tactical edge, increasing the speed of service and capability acquisition and delivery, and providing operational excellence. He outlined DISA's goals for information assurance and the basic tools used to achieve them. Gen. Croom concluded his presentation by holding a brief question and answer session with attendees.
