The AFCEA Cyber Security Working Group, in cooperation with the National Cyber And Information Security Agency (NUKIB) and faculty of the engineering department at Czech Technical University, organized another security seminar in September. The event was again dedicated to issues of cybersecurity, mainly to the current state of cybersecurity in the Czech Republic. Representatives of the newly created NUKIB introduced their agency, its competencies and individual workplaces, informed attendees about the implementation of the network information systems directive into the national legislation, presented an amending law on cybersecurity and informed about the priorities of the agency and the Czech Republic in the cybersecurity area. The second part of the seminar contained a number of presentations devoted to the new generation of intrusion detection and prevention systems, advanced persistent threat attacks, forensics and threat analyses. The presenters included an important foreign guest, Jason Mical, Fidelis Cybersecurity, who shared his experience in investigating many cyber incidents. The seminar was attended by almost 150 professionals from public administration, the financial sector and critical information infrastructure. |
