An Inside Look at NCI Agency Support Unit

The Ramstein Officers' Club, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, hosted the chapter's January luncheon. Col. Neal Bruegger, commander, NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency Communications and Information Systems Support Unit (CSU) Ramstein, was the guest speaker. Col. Bruegger began with a brief history of NATO and the NCI Agency that was founded as part of a NATO reform. He described how the agency is organized and why cyber and information technology are an important aspect of the NCI Agency's mission. The agency's job is to provide customers in NATO with information technology solutions to meet mission needs. The agency accomplishes this through 24/7 on-site support and a one-hour restoral policy for any critical mission system. Col. Bruegger finished by sharing that one of this year's priorities for the agency is implementation of a virtual desktop environment throughout NATO.
