Chapter Selects Midshipman for ROTC Honor Award

Capt. Dave Grundies, USN (Ret.), chapter chairman of the board, and Capt. Edwin Kaiser, USN, commanding officer, Naval ROTC San Diego Consortium, presented the AFCEA ROTC Honor Award in April to Midshipman Mitchel DiLorenzo, USN. The award recognizes a cadet or midshipman for achievement in leadership and academics and includes a certificate and a ribbon bar. Recipients are selected by professors of military or naval science or aerospace studies. Each ROTC unit may nominate one person for the award annually. Recipients must be U.S. citizens and juniors preparing to enter their senior year and majoring in electronics; electrical, aerospace, computer, systems or communications engineering; mathematics; physics; science or mathematics education; computer science or technology; information management systems; or related technical disciplines. Nominees also excel academically.
