Spring Gala Supports STEM Scholarships, Celebrates 40 Under 40 Winners

The chapter hosted its annual Spring Gala dinner dance and silent auction in May at the Doubletree Bedford Glen hotel in Bedford, Massachusetts, to benefit its education fund. The evening included a live feed of the Kentucky Derby with guests rooting for their favorites, followed by dinner, dancing and a silent auction to raise funds for chapter STEM scholarships. Kate Stowe, chair of the gala planning committee, welcomed guests and announced raffle and silent auction winners. Pat Dagle, chapter president, honored four chapter winners of this year's Young AFCEA 40 Under 40 Award, given by AFCEA International to 40 Young AFCEANs for their significant contributions in a STEM field. Chapter winners included Perry Chaffee, vice president of strategy for WWPass; Christina Epstein, technical staff, MIT Lincoln Laboratory; Tom Northardt, senior electrical engineer, MIKEL Inc.; and Benjamin Poole, department head, The MITRE Corp.
