Air Force Deputy CIO Details Network's Digital Transformation |
The U.S. Air Force's deputy chief information officer and deputy chief, information dominance, spoke in June to a full house of AFCEA members and guests. William E. Marion II detailed how the enterprise network is headed for a digital transformation. He outlined the Air Force's digital journey in four phases, reaching from the major command level up to the unified commands. These phases, or waves, encompass improvements to all components, including applications, data storage, network protection and enterprise services. He said he hopes to see a new norm begin to catch fire at all unit levels. Marion emphasized that U.S. cyber warriors know the business, continuously challenge the standard, constant learning and ultimately enjoying what we do. Finally, he took the time to recognize and provide coins to several outstanding airmen. The chapter thanks Marion for visiting and sharing his unique insights. |
