4th Annual San Diego Cycle for STEM Ride

In May, riders braved chilly "May-Grey" weather in San Diego to cycle upwards of 50 miles along the California coastline to raise money for STEM scholarships. Chapter President Trevor Bender noted, "This is our 4th Annual AFCEA San Diego Chapter Cycle for STEM ride, and with 25 riders was our largest one by far. Through sponsorships and rider fees, more than $5,000 was raised to go towards student scholarships." The chapter would like to give a special shout-out to title sponsor Leidos who provided the riders' jerseys. Other sponsors included Verizon, the Sutherland Family, Innovative Solutions and Moment Bicycles. The goal is to grow the event so that by year 10 more than 100 riders raise $25,000 in scholarship funds.
