Retired Colonel Talks Leadership Paradigms |
The chapter's Young AFCEANs hosted guest speaker Col. Mark Scureman, USA (Ret.), West Point graduate, author and leadership trainer, at a July Lunch and Learn event sponsored by Cohns & Associates. The colonel's experience includes leading soldiers in combat, commanding a U.S. Army post, serving in supervisory positions in the civilian world, and writing the management and leadership book, titled "The Boss's Challenge: Manage Well, Lead Well, and Listen." Col. Scureman has conducted leadership seminars throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. His list of clients includes Fortune 500 companies, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the IRS, the National Park Service, as well as state and local governments. At the event, Martin Harbolt, chapter chairman of the board and regional vice president, highlighted the goal to increase the number of service members in the chapter. For anyone who joins AFCEA during a chapter event, a free membership will be provided to a service member in the community. |
