Chapter's Cycle for STEM Raises $7,000 for Education |
Steve Sutherland, chairman of the chapter's Cycle for STEM planning committee, presented a $7,000 check to the chapter's Education Committee during the August luncheon at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Bay Club Room. Terry McKearney, the chapter's Technology Needed in Schools (TNS) coordinator, and Shirley Adams, AFCEA regional vice president, Southern California, received the check. Proceeds, including rider fees, corporate sponsorships and in-kind contributions of jerseys and other goods, were earned from the fourth annual 50-mile Cycle for STEM ride. This year's ride in May attracted an all-time high of 25 cyclists. |
