With STEM Scholarships, Students Are Ready for Liftoff

The chapter awarded five Lift Off Scholarships in July to local students beginning their undergraduate studies in STEM. Recipients were Thomas Hutto and Olivia Hamilton, Elizabethtown High School; Brian Knapp, Ballard High School; Keeley Slade, John Hardin High School; and Ekaterina Kovatsenko, South Oldham High School. After the scholarship presentation, guest speaker Command Sgt. Maj. Carlos M. Medina, USA (Ret.), focused on the theme of "direction." Maj. Medina culminated his Army career of more than 32 years in the Personnel Information Systems Directorate of the Human Resources Command at Fort Knox. The chapter thanks event sponsor Perspecta and congratulations the scholarship recipients.
