WIESBADEN CHAPTER CHAPTER - Aug 18, 2018 |
Kickoff Dinner Marks Chapter's Revival |
The chapter was re-established in July after a nearly five-year hiatus with a membership kickoff dinner and information session at the Rheinblick Golf Course in Wiesbaden, Germany. More than 25 new and current members met to exchange ideas and information about goals, corporate memberships and the professional community of interest for AFCEA International's and AFCEA Europe's revived chapter. Kevin Kaufman, regional vice president, Central Europe-Southwest, provided an overview of AFCEA. Maj. Gen. Erich Staudacher, GEAF (Ret.), general manager of AFCEA Europe, also offered remarks. The chapter thanks both of these leaders for their personal and professional support. Chapter leadership positions were confirmed. David Pendall will serve as president; Dawn Sverak as secretary; Mike Baumann as treasurer; Kevin Johnson as vice president, community outreach; Felix Zayas as vice president, Young AFCEAN Program; Dan Warschawski as vice president, corporate memberships; and Brian Blank as webmaster and online media manager. Since the kickoff event, the chapter has added Michael A. Luethner as vice president and Cyndy Duscio as vice president for Women in AFCEA. The chapter is growing and still looking to fill other roles, including vice president for scholarships, vice president for awards, vice president for publicity and parliamentarian.
