NATO Parliamentarians Meet San Diego Cyber Professionals

With cybersecurity at the forefront, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly reached out to AFCEA International for support in arranging a visit to southern California. Chapter President Gary Brister and Shirley Adams, regional vice president, Southern California, worked with partner organization Cyber Center of Excellence to arrange a half day discussion and U.S. Navy ship tour in October. The parliamentarians were delighted to have the opportunity to discuss cybersecurity with the experts who joined the roundtable discussion. They exchanged views on a broad array of issues and received stimulating new impulses for their future work. The wealth of information gathered will feed into upcoming committee discussions and reports, including the 2019 General Report which will focus on cyber defense and security. This level of cross-national exchange shows the organizational power achieved when AFCEA International and local chapters join together to support government and industry and raise awareness of the AFCEA brand.
