DAYTON-WRIGHT CHAPTER CHAPTER - Jan 20, 2019

Multidomain Platforms Are a Team Sport, Colonel Says

The chapter hosted Col. Lori L. Winn, USAF, commander, 88th Communications Group at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, as their January luncheon speaker. In the spirit of the Super Bowl, Col. Winn kicked off her presentation to military, civilian and industry partners with "Offense wins games and Defense wins championships." Col. Winn represents thousands of users on hundreds of platforms. Multidomain platforms are a team sport, she iterated. Fusing multidomains with cyber operations is at the heart of the game. Cyber threats are changing the face of the everyday for warfighters. The characteristics of war are changing, and asymmetric threats are now a part of that battlespace. The battlespace is global and must be addressed as such. Data is vulnerable and multidomain operational thinking is the new world. All data is vulnerable. Bio threats jeopardize the water supply and air dominance is constrained. Industry can help with the people, the processes and the technology. Winn urged industry to get out there and help the warfighters. The chapter annual diamond sponsors are Segue Technologies and MITRE, and annual platinum sponsors are FTI. Luncheon sponsors were Segue, FTI, MITRE and JJR Solutions.
