Expert Discusses Artificial Intelligence as the Way of the Future

The chapter would like to thank SAIC for sponsoring the first general membership meeting of 2019 in March. The well-attended meeting featured SAIC subject matter expert, Kuan Collins, who spoke about artificial intelligence (AI) and its importance. She explained what AI is, why it's important, and why the U.S. government must not fall behind other countries in this capability. AI is the way of the future. Other countries such as China are heavily investing in AI, so the U.S. must not be complacent. As AI capabilities evolve, it will support more business processes. Using AI is as relevant and imperative to competitiveness as the previous efforts to automate business processes and back office functions. Governmental support of AI also ensures that the best and brightest minds will consider government service as a career option.
