Chapter Awards Eight STEM Scholarships

At the chapter STEM scholarship luncheon in July, grants and scholarships were awarded to high school students to conduct STEM research at local schools or to attend colleges and major in STEM subjects. The awards ranged from $2,000 to $8,000 each. The matriculated colleges ranged from local community colleges to top tier Ivy League schools or their equivalents. Some of the student winners are the first in their families to attend colleges and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. These students have overcome enormous obstacles and have persevered to become role models for other students. The chapter recognized a total of eight students, seven of whom attended with their families and teachers.
