In August, the chapter held its third quarter luncheon in celebration of the retirement of outgoing president, Col. Keith Mueller, USAF, director of communications, U.S. Air Forces Central, with special guest speaker, Maj. Gen. John Maluda, USAF (Ret.). Gen. Maluda enlisted in the Air Force, earned a commission and served 34 years bottom to top, caring for every airman throughout his journey. His legacy of strategic vision, applied leadership and matchless mentorship, made an indelible imprint in the DNA of the Airforce's 21st century cyberspace operations and support force. He also defined the mission scope, requirements, and processes to create the Air Force Network Operations and Security Center-the precursor for the current 24th Air Force Cyber Component. Col. Mueller then relinquished the chapter presidency to Col. Richard Brown, USAF, commander, 20th Mission Support Group. The chapter also awarded one-year AFCEA memberships to two airmen. |
