Preparing for the Future of Cybersecurity

In September, the chapter's cybersecurity working group, in cooperation with the National Police Academy of the Czech Republic and National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NCISA), prepared a one-day professional program focused on the current state of cybersecurity in the Czech Republic; recent technological trends and solutions for cybersecurity and defense; and artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. More than 100 experts from government, military, academia and the private sector also discussed supply chain security issues and shared best practices in the implementation of cybersecurity. Dusan Navratil, director, NCISA, opened the seminar. Petr Jirasek, regional vice president, Central Eastern Europe, who also presented information about Czech cybersecurity competitions for high school students-part of EU/ENISA [European Union Agency for Cybersecurity] European Cybersecurity Challenge. The Czech Republic is Europe's leader in preparing young talent for the future cyber workforce. This year, more than 4,500 Czech high school students took part in the cyber competition, representing the highest number of participants in the EU.
