In April the chapter participated in the University of West Florida Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Awards Ceremony. Bob Pierce, USA (Ret.), chapter vice president of awards and education, worked with Brandi D. Martin of the University of West Florida to select Cadet Jonathan Berg as the recipient of the AFCEA Honor Award. The chapter presented the award in support of the local community providing recognition and sponsorship of scholarships, promoting education to equip members to meet government's challenges and to further careers. Robyn Philips, chapter vice president, stated, "Our Pensacola Chapter feels strongly about the need to continue these types of awards and will participate with their presentations at every opportunity."
