Chapter Invited To Discuss Cybersecurity Policy

In December, the chapter was invited to make observations and contributions to the document of National Cybersecurity Policy by Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society-MINTEL.

The management was carried out by José María Gómez De La Torre Gómez, technical director of Security Control of Telecommunications Networks Agency for the Regulation and Control of Telecommunications ARCOTEL.

A portion of the invitation read as follows:

"The members of the Interinstitutional Cybersecurity Working Group are made up of the following institutions: MDG Ministry of Government, cyber crimes; MDN Ministry of National Defense, Cyber Defense and Critical Infrastructure; CIES Center for Strategic Intelligence, Cyber Intelligence, critical infrastructure; MREMH Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility; Diplomacy in Cyberspace and International Cooperation; Presidency - Vice Presidency, Governance and Articulation; MINTEL Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society; Information Security.

To date, the inter-institutional working group has developed a proposal for the 'National Cybersecurity Policy,' which has been submitted for public consultation, to socialize with key actors from various sectors of the country, such as civil society, academia, business, private and public institutions among others. To receive contributions, recommendations, proposals and observations regarding the document, inputs will improve and enrich the proposal.

Under this context, we are pleased to invite your institution to be a participant with your contributions, which will enhance and enrich this instrument to achieve a Cybersecurity Digital Ecuador, as well as protect the essential services and infrastructures of the State and security of citizens in cyberspace."
