In May the chapter held its Scholarship Awards luncheon in May and featured guest speaker Lt. Gen. Stephen G. Wood, USAF, deputy commander, United Nations Command; deputy commander, U.S. Forces Korea; commander, Air Component Command, Republic of Korea and U.S. Combined Forces Command; and Commander, 7th Air Force. Prior to presenting the scholarship awards to this year's recipients, Gen. Wood thanked AFCEA and the chapter's corporate members for their continued support and commitment to the United States Forces Korea (USFK) community, and for helping with local interests. In his speech, Gen. Wood stated, "To advance technology, we need to begin with our youth." He told the student scholarship awardees that an AFCEA scholarship is one way to kick start a great future. The 2007 Seoul Chapter's scholarship awardees are Alexander Ahn, Chad Ahn, Hana Church, Sara Jones, Frances Kim and Kelly Schulte.
