In November, Maurice D. Wheeler, chapter membership chair and CEO, MMC LLC, presented the latest information for the 2021 annual membership drive to the chapter staff and officers. The Membership Team was briefed on membership statistics, individual membership analysis, student chapter progress updates and future planning. The chapter is still one of the largest chapters with almost 600 members and continues to draw from many different fields, including industry, defense, business, academia, active military, active government and other organizations.
The student chapter initiation process is to connect with Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) and CinDay Cyber Corridor with the goals of establishing school interest and faculty sponsor(s), selecting/training faculty advisors, inviting students to join the Regional Student Chapter and attending the next Cincinnati-Dayton cyber meeting. Currently, the chapter is targeting the CinDay Cyber Schools Coalition, University of Dayton, Wright-State University, Central State University, Kettering College and Ohio State University.
The chapter continues outreach into the local community as it has done over the past twenty years through monthly luncheons, scholarship events, information technology and future defense sector education.
