CENTRAL FLORIDA CHAPTER CHAPTER - Feb 23, 2022 |
USSOCOM Small Business Office Addresses the Chapter |
In February, Paul Ward with the Small Business Programs for U.S. Southern Command (USSOCOM) discussed the best ways for small business to work with the command. Ward's top four tips were: 1) When meeting with the Small Business Office, focus on your capabilities, not your status. 2) Respond to requests for information (RFIs). The more qualified small business responses, the easier it is to justify releasing the RFI as a small business set aside. 3) Read the solicitation and answer the questions. Your answers should be technical responses that explain "how" you do something, not that you do it. 4) When meeting with the Small Business Office, bring your technical experts. BD can attend but should not come alone. If your organization is interested in meeting with the USSOCOM Small Business Office, they meet with industry every Thursday at an off-base location. Email Ward for a meeting request. |
