Chapter Hosts Summer Tech Expo 2022

In July, the chapter hosted the annual Summer Tech Expo at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, with more than 80 information technology vendors, more than 500 attendees and several other general officers. Over two days, industry partners integrated with Air Force senior leaders to understand U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa's (USAFE-AFAFRICA's) requirements and showcase their cutting-edge technology to help the field warfighting capabilities across the theater.

The Tech Expo included: Emerging Leaders Ice Breaker, Headquarters USAFE-AFAFRICA Briefings to Industry by Directorates and Local Units, Breakfast with Air Force Deputy Chief Information Officer and the Annual AFCEA Chapter 158 Golf Tournament.
During the Tech Expo Breakfast, the chapter hosted Winston Beauchamp, deputy chief information officer, U.S. Air Force. Beauchamp was the keynote speaker and discussed "Modernizing Enterprise Information Technology and Data in the Department of the Air Force."

Beauchamp addressed how airmen and guardians are our most valuable resource and effectiveness comes from those people who do the mission. While priorities may change, Beauchamp reiterated the importance of today, including establishing a solid digital foundation, user experience, enabling digital talent and attacking manual processes. In defining the path forward, it will be important to transition new capabilities to operations to be more effective.
