2Q Luncheon Offers Education, Insight and Discussion

In June, the chapter hosted its Second Quarter Luncheon. Brig. Gen. Robert Powell Jr., USAR, the U.S. Army Central G-6, attended as the most honored guest speaker. In his speech, Gen. Powell talked about the power of cyber capabilities in the Middle East area of responsibility and personal cyber protection measures everyone can take. He highlighted some different protection measures and articulated how the Army is fighting these worldwide threats on a daily basis.

Col. Gary Cornn, USAF, director, U.S. Air Force Central, A-6, and the chapter president, asked several questions to stimulate the audience's thinking. A number of other guest participants asked Gen. Powell very complex questions that elicited deep responses. Gen. Powell provided tremendous insight with his years of Army experience and leadership. The conversation helped make this one of the chapter's best luncheons.

Not only did everyone enjoy wonderful food, but they also had the opportunity to listen to one of the Army's leading cyber experts. The chapter is looking forward to more educational luncheons the rest of the year while preparing for a scholarship presentation at the Third Quarter Luncheon.
