Guest Speaker Discusses Training AI Algorithms Using Video Games

The Emerging Leaders held a Tech on Tap social event and learning experience that was sponsored by Big Bear AI. Guest speaker, Garrett Hall, research engineer with Southwest Research Institute, Defense & Intelligence Solutions Division, discussed how autonomous agents can learn to complete objectives in a video game environment using multi-agent reinforcement learning. Hall broke down a very complex subject providing the background information on how he uses artificial intelligence to train a model and also how it can be applied to future technologies. Hall explained that having this type of technical interchange during a presentation made it quite enjoyable.
