LEXINGTON-CONCORD CHAPTER CHAPTER - Oct 13, 2022 |
AFCEA Science Teaching Grant Awarded on Robot Day |
The chapter recently awarded two science teachers a Science Teaching Tools Grant. $2,000 was awarded to Michael Berger from the Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, and Huijing Wu from the Eliot K-8 Innovation School (both in Boston). The grant provided funds for materials purchased for a hands-on, project-based learning portion of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Beaver Works Curriculum for the students to build a robotic vehicle, "mini-RACECAR," then learn to program the autonomous car with Python software. The impact of this offering is for all students to have increased access to various platforms within the realm of technology, robotics and engineering. |
