Emerging Leaders Annual Mentor Protégé Night Inspires Young Participants

The chapter's Emerging Leaders held its annual Mentor Protégé Night at Top Golf San Antonio. The event brings together leaders in government, industry and academic fields to provide expertise in their respective fields to future leaders interested in information technology careers. The night mirrors a speed mentoring model where each table has two mentors to provide dialogue and answer questions before moving to the next table. This year proved to be another great success with the youngest crowd to date. High school students were in attendance, and it was the first time the chapter had such a large presence of high school students. Emerging Leader Vice President Justin Newell explained that the connections made here could be game-changing for attendees. "We've had people come through that have completely changed their career path or were on the fence about what to do with their careers, but after this night, were able to set off with a mentor that continues to help them today. It's one of our best events!"
