Chapter Promotes STEM Through Cash Awards

During a May luncheon at the Franklin Restaurant, Rome, New York, the chapter gave out a total of $6,978.66 to support STEM in the local area.

Four scholarships were given out this year to deserving students, two in high school and two in college. Emma Reid, South Lewis High School, plans to go to New Jersey Institute of Technology. Jacob Premo, Rome Free Academy, plans to go to Georgia Tech/Virginia Tech/Rochester Institute of Technology. Dakata Fedor and Jessica Ritz are enrolled in Rochester Institute of Technology. The chapter also gave out a grant in the amount of $978.66 to Taylor Yerrick from Rome City School District to promote STEM in the classroom through the use of new microscopes.
