New Horizons Symposium 2024 Fosters Unyielding Vigilance

The New Horizons Symposium 2024 embarked on an exhilarating journey, igniting the flames of innovation and collaboration in the realm of national defense. With a meticulously curated agenda, the symposium brought together visionaries from industry, academia and government to explore cutting-edge developments and fortify military preparedness for contested environments.

Day 1 set the stage for an electrifying experience, marked by insightful keynote speeches and vibrant panel discussions. Lt. Col. Adam Wallace, USAF, Douglas Schmidt and Lt. Gen. Donna Shipton, USAF, illuminated the path forward, offering invaluable perspectives on innovation, artificial intelligence-enabled futures and strategic decision-making in the Air Force.

Panel discussions and innovation pitches further enriched the discourse, shedding light on adversary technology development, Department of Defense innovation priorities and the entrepreneurial spirit driving defense technology forward. Networking opportunities abounded, fostering connections and collaboration among attendees, culminating in a lively welcome reception brimming with energy and ideas.

Day 2 accelerated the pace of transformation with Maj. Gen. Anthony 'Awgie' Genatempo's captivating presentation. His vision for Air Force transformation underscored the pivotal role of technology in shaping modern military operations, emphasizing innovation and collaboration as cornerstones of readiness in contested environments.

Accompanied by his esteemed team, Gen. Genatempo delved into the challenges and opportunities facing the Air Force, inspiring attendees with his strategic insights and commitment to driving change. The interactive Q&A session provided a platform for deeper exploration, reaffirming the Air Force's dedication to innovation and preparedness.

Day 3: Wrapping Up Three Days of Innovation-The symposium culminated in a crescendo of insights, discussions and appreciation for the collaborative efforts that fueled its success. A heartfelt tribute to veterans kicked off the final day, followed by presentations from key Air Force program executive officers (PEOs) and a keynote address on workforce development strategies.

Panel discussions and presentations from PEO Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (C3BM) illuminated the integration of critical military systems, highlighting the importance of collaborative partnerships in delivering complex solutions. As the symposium drew to a close, organizers expressed gratitude to all who contributed, reaffirming the community's commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
