Student Scholarships Can Change Lives |
Tevin Mbogo is a rising senior at South High Community School in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is currently participating in the MITES Semester program, an outreach initiative by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) designed for high-achieving students from low-income, underserved and underrepresented backgrounds. Despite not having a laptop and relying on libraries for his studies, Tevin is deeply involved in computer-aided design (CAD) modeling and serves as the head of design on his VEX robotics team. The MITES program requires a significant commitment of more than 40 hours a week, and the program administrator confirms that Tevin is in good standing, successfully completing coursework in Neuroscience and Science Writing and Communications. His guidance counselor also attests to his excellence as a student. Tevin will use his scholarship to buy a laptop to continue his studies. |
