For February's Luncheon, the chapter was joined by Capt. Alex Hampton, USN.

Hampton, a native of Chicago, graduated from The University of Illinois in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Program and earned his designation as a Naval Aviator in February 2001.

Hampton's career includes initial fleet training with the "Gladiators" of Strike Fighter Squadron 106 and operational flying with the "Sunliners" of Strike Fighter Squadron 81. He deployed with Carrier Air Wing 17 onboard USS John F. Kennedy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also attended the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and was the Air-to-Air employment subject matter expert at the East Coast Weapons School.

Demonstrating exceptional leadership throughout his career, Hampton has held critical roles that shaped operational effectiveness and naval aviators' professional development. He served as training officer for the "Sunliners," ensuring combat readiness and tactical excellence. As a department head in Strike Fighter Squadron 136, he played a pivotal role in squadron operations, fostering teamwork and strategic execution. His tenure as commander of Strike Fighter Squadron 27 showcased his ability to lead under pressure, successfully deploying multiple times in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn.

Beyond squadron command, Hampton's leadership extended to strategic planning and joint military operations. He contributed to high-level defense strategy and warfighting concepts as deputy division chief for the J8 Studies, Analysis, and Wargaming Division on the Joint Staff. Later, as commander of Carrier Air Wing 7, he was responsible for integrating and commanding multiple squadrons, leading complex carrier air operations aboard USS George H.W. Bush and USS George Washington. As executive assistant for Adm. Daryl Caudle, commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, he continues to provide critical leadership at the highest levels of the Navy.

With over 3,800 total flight hours, including 3,500 F/A-18 flight hours and 952 carrier-arrested landings, Hampton's operational experience matches his commitment to mentorship and excellence. His personal decorations, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Air Medal, reflect his outstanding contributions to naval aviation and warfighting capability.

Hampton's career exemplifies leadership in action-mentoring future generations of aviators, shaping strategic initiatives and leading combat-ready forces with distinction. His dedication and influence continue to strengthen the Navy and inspire those who serve.
