In June, AFCEA International's Regional Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe Petr Jirasek presented the prestigious Meritorious Service Award to Brig. Gen. Petr Snajdarek, chapter first vice president, commander Signal Corps of the Czech Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence (MOD) digital officer, and director of MOD Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Division.
The award was granted based on the recommendation of the chapter board, recognizing Snajdarek for his long-standing dedication to the chapter and his continuous support of its initiatives. His contributions have significantly strengthened the broader security community in the region.
Snajdarek plays a key role in organizing the annual Signal Corps Conference and was instrumental in preparing the upcoming Soft Target Protection Conference. Additionally, he has actively supported the work of the chapter's CIS Working Group, which contributes to national and regional dialogue on security and resilience in the digital domain.
Beyond his contributions to AFCEA, Snajdarek led the national digital health initiative during the COVID-19 crisis and currently oversees the digital transformation of the MOD, with impact extending across the entire public administration. His leadership bridges the operational and technical communities, the military, crisis management structures and senior political leadership, creating unique opportunities for AFCEA members to engage in cross-sectoral collaboration.
The award ceremony was attended by representatives of the MOD's CIS Division, who also collaborate closely with the chapter on these key initiatives.
