The chapter's 2025 Annual Winter Gala once again demonstrated the power of community, service and partnership that defines the chapter. Hosted at the iconic National Building Museum, the sold-out evening brought together government and industry leaders for a night of celebration, connection and shared purpose.
The gala served as a reflection of AFCEA's enduring mission, uniting public and private sector leaders to advance innovation while giving back to the community. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed meaningful conversations, strengthened relationships and celebrated the collective achievements that continue to move the national security and technology communities forward.
A hallmark of the Winter Gala is its impact beyond the ballroom, and this year's Toys for Tots drive was nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of sponsors and guests, 10,679 toys were collected, which helped to bring holiday joy to more than 3,000 families across the National Capital Region. This incredible outpouring of support underscores the chapter's deep commitment to service and making a tangible difference for military families and those in the wider communities where we work.
In recognition of its continued dedication to the Toys for Tots program, the chapter was honored to receive the Commander's Award, presented by Lt. Gen. Leonard Anderson IV, commander, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. This prestigious recognition highlights the chapter's year-after-year support of the Marine Corps' mission to serve families in need during the holiday season.
The success of the 2025 Winter Gala would not have been possible without the leadership of a devoted volunteer committee and the generous support of the event's sponsors. Their combined efforts ensured an evening that not only met but exceeded expectations, strengthening the bonds that make the AFCEA DC community so exceptional.
The chapter extends its sincere gratitude to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for their continued partnership and unwavering support of the Winter Gala's Toys for Tots drive.
As the chapter looks ahead, the Winter Gala continues to set the standard for excellence, impact and community engagement.
Beyond the evening's celebration, a portion of the event proceeds go directly to support the chapter's STEM initiatives, including scholarships, mentorship programs and hands-on educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These investments help cultivate a diverse and capable pipeline of future innovators, ensuring the national security community remains strong for generations to come.
