A New Year and a Chapter Relaunch

A new committee launched the chapter into the new year after a 14-month hiatus. Ian Annett, former deputy chief executive officer at the U.K. Space Agency, provided an insightful and passionate talk on the "Case for Space; Myths, Movers and Markets." Ian provided a broad scope synopsis of the U.K. and global space economy and why it is key for security, stability and growth. There was a great turnout of more than 40 attendees, with many new faces and old friends. This enabled lively discussion on the tenants of space and the subject covered in the presentation spanning crewed space missions, industry, ground stations and support, communications, cost and threats. The new committee welcomed and thanked NetScout for assisting in the relaunch of the chapter. NetScout provides real-time network visibility and "business assurance" solutions for service providers, and government.
