In February the chapter paid a visit to Kusters Engineering (KE) in Venlo, the Netherlands, which is a world leading manufacturer of custom designed classified waste and currency disintegration systems. KE started in 1979 with currency disintegration systems. In 1989 a break-through was reached in this market, when a large contract was signed with the Bank of England. In 2000 the first Coin Crushing System was produced. In 2004 the Intelligent Disintegration System was introduced at the ASIS Conference in Dallas, USA. The IDS received full NSA approval in 2005. Also covered were online briquetting systems, optical media disintegrators and TRAIL. TRAIL accommodates tracking and tracing of high security information media or valuables from entry into the system till destruction. It is based on secure packaging, identification tags, reporting, software and hardware fully integrated with KE's disintegration equipment, both for high security information media and for currency. It is offered in co-operation with Brinks Netherlands. |
