The check represents the proceeds from "A Night for the Children," according to Kenneth Touloumes, chapter president, who explained that it is a charity gala held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. According to Touloumes, this year's gala marked the 10th anniversary of the charity event that has raised more than $2 million since its inception through corporate sponsorships and table sales.
