ERIE CANAL CHAPTER CHAPTER - Aug 05, 2008 |
The chapter sponsored its fourth annual Airborne Network Technology Review Days with participation by the Air Force Research Laboratory-Rome Research Site; the Naval Research Laboratory and the Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC). This year's event expanded on last year's success by highlighting the current approaches and plans to deploy an airborne network. Participants had the opportunity to engage industry and government researchers and scientists to discuss their approach and solutions to the obstacles of networking airborne assets as well as present research demonstrations and discuss experiments and practices. Lt. Gen. Robert J. Elder Jr., USAF, commander, 8th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic), Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and Joint Functional Component Commander for Global Strike and Integration, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, served as the keynote speaker for the third year in a row. Additional speakers included Lt. Gen. Allen Peck, USAF, commander, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; Gary Blohm, technical director, CERDEC; Rear Adm. Sandy Daniels, USN, director, Warfare Integration on the Chief of Naval Operations staff/N-6F; and Keith Seaman, Defense Business Systems Acquisition Executive, Business Transformation Agency. |
