SOUTHERN ARIZONA CHAPTER CHAPTER - Sep 25, 2008 |
Commander Discusses Military Intelligence, Globalization |
Col. Thomas L. Miller, USA, commander, 111th Military Intelligence (MI) Brigade, U.S. Army Intelligence Center, was the featured speaker at the chapter's September luncheon. Col. Miller shared his belief that the U.S. Army is the world's preeminent land force by noting that the Army has the most combat experience in its history. Col. Miller's brigade trains thousands of soldiers in MI each year. He emphasized that the United States has many enemies who wish the country harm and that the Information Age and globalization have changed how the armed forces approach combat. The development and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction are a threat to the U.S. and its allies, Col. Miller explained, but he believes the U.S. is ready to fight because the Army's soldiers are its greatest resource. |
