Exhibition Promotes Networking, Raises Educational Funds

The chapter hosted its 26th annual Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Systems Technology (C4IST) Exhibition at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, in October. Officials from Fort Huachuca and the city of Sierra Vista, Arizona, joined chapter members in the opening ceremony.

The C4IST Exhibition was housed at Barnes Field House, located near the headquarters for the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and School as well as the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command and 9th Army Signal Command (NETCOM/9th ASC).

Larry Bingaman, exhibition chairman, noted that more than 110 companies and 400 company representatives participated in the event, which is the event is the largest of its kind in southeastern Arizona. The conference provided networking opportunities for attendees from government, academia, the military and industry. The exhibition's agenda also included two social receptions, a golf tournament, a keynote dinner, technical exhibits and a career fair.

Daniel Bradford, deputy to the commanding general and senior technical director of NETCOM/9th ASC, delivered the keynote address to more than 150 people. In addition, Sean McGowan, manager of member and chapter programs, AFCEA International; Dave Grundies, regional vice president; and Rick Mueller, mayor pro tem of Sierra Vista, participated in the events.

During the exhibition's opening ceremony, Buena High School's band provided music, including 'The Star-Spangled Banner,' during which the Veternas of Foreign Wars Post 9972 Honor Guard posted the colors. The event raised more than $130,000 for the chapter's scholarship and education programs.
