Educational Donation Funds the Hard Sciences |
At the November meeting, the chapter presented $1,000 from its educational fund to the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium of Bonn. The donation will go toward providing enhanced tools and technologies for the science, mathematics and information technology faculty in Bonn's leading science and mathematics school. Maj. Gen. Klaus-Peter Treche, GEA (Ret.), chapter president, made the presentation to Dr. Uwe Bettscheider, the school's principal. According to Bettscheider, the teaching award will be used for an urgent modernization of the natural science collection. The Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium was founded in 1882 and, in the recent decades, he noted, it has developed a focus on mathematics and science classes, as well as arts. Today, the school is renowned as one of Germany's leading schools of excellence in the hard sciences and information technology. |
