Hadi Nima, director general of communications (DGoC), Iraqi Ministry of Defense (MoD), was the keynote speaker during the chapter's January meeting. Nima discussed plans to expand command and control (C2) networks, future fielding and training on tactical communication systems and plans to add force structure to the Iraqi military, focusing on providing and training C2 systems to division commanders. The director general also explained goals for a collaborative effort between contractor and internal MoD technical capabilities. The chapter finalized its bylaws, elected chapter officers, discussed participating in the 2009 DGoC Conference and planned a membership drive that would focus on U.S. and Iraqi security forces and commercial information technology companies. |
