Biography - ITC Jeffrey D. Claypool, USN

 

ITC Claypool performed superbly as U.S. SEVENTH Fleet Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Support Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO), delivering exceptional C4I readiness for Commander. In FY 2025, in addition to his ISSM duties, he fulfilled the additional responsibilities of a vacant Senior Chief Petty Officer and Chief Petty Officer billet, excelling as LCPO of 2 divisions—supreme leadership! 

At 69% manning, ITC Claypool masterfully managed a first-in-class, non–program of record virtual network of 219 servers, 24 multi-function devices, and 315 virtual workstations across 6 enclaves. This $20M enterprise delivered near-continuous connectivity to 451personnel, helping shape the MOC’s 7 joint functions, 30 cross-functional teams, 24 planning teams, and five 24/7 watch cells. He measurably enhanced the Fleet Commander’s ability to direct 70 ships, 150 aircraft, and 28,000 personnel across the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.

ITC Claypool led U.S. SEVENTH Fleet through its first-ever Cyber Operational Readiness Assessment (CORA). His brilliance led to the highest CORA score ever among all numbered fleets, being assessed as “very low risk”; efforts that earned personal acknowledgment from Commander, Fleet Cyber Command.

Additionally, he enabled Flag remote access to VoSIP and SIPRNET Outlook Web Access, putting decision-making and force maneuverability in the palm of the Commander’s hand from any location abroad.
