LCDR Ryan M. Benito serves as Flag Communications Officer and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Assured Command and Control (C5I) for Carrier Strike Group TWO, where he has consistently delivered high-impact operational results through accountability, technical excellence, and decisive leadership.
As Knowledge Management Officer, LCDR Benito authored the Strike Group’s first Knowledge Management instruction, integrating enterprise tools such as Nautilus, SharePoint, and Flank Speed into staff and higher-headquarters battle rhythms. This initiative increased staff effectiveness by approximately 30% and established a durable foundation for decision advantage.
As Information Systems Security Manager, he led a major revision of the CSG-2 Cybersecurity Instruction, applying CISSP-level expertise and industry best practices to align with DoD Zero Trust objectives. He also established a Cybersecurity Workforce Program, directly improving cybersecurity readiness and contributing to an above-average Inspector General assessment. His decisive response to a cybersecurity incident resulted in policy corrections that enhanced operational availability and battlespace awareness across the Department of Defense.
Operationally, LCDR Benito led command and control efforts during UNITAS 25, qualifying space cadre personnel, authoring the first U.S.-hosted OPTASK COMMS, and implementing a resilient PACE plan supporting 56 partner nations and over 120 units with 100% communications availability.
Additionally, he secured and executed over $2M to establish Information Warfare Squadron TWO, the first afloat IW unit for an East Coast strike group, significantly enhancing CSG-2 lethality, survivability and information warfare integration.
