The Brad A. Logan Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by fellow WAHS graduate, Ray Cross, CAPT, USN (Ret.) and honors the life and legacy of Captain Brad A. Logan, a 1971 graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School and a 1975 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Captain Logan tragically lost his life in 1980 during a training mission in Spain when his aircraft experienced a loss of power. Known for his academic excellence, dedication to service and commitment to the STEM field, his memory continues to inspire future generations.

This $2,000 scholarship supports a Wallenpaupack Area High School senior pursuing a four-year degree in STEM, including the natural sciences. Recipients are selected based on academic goals, alignment with STEM fields and a personal reflection on the qualities they share with Captain Logan.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  • Be a current Wallenpaupack Area High School senior located in Hawley, PA.
  • Plan to pursue a STEM major, including natural sciences, through an accredited four-year degree-granting program.

 

 

 


Application Process

Applications must include the following materials:

  • Submit an essay of approximately 500 words discussing:
    • The personal qualities they share with Captain Brad Logan
    • What this award means to them
  • Complete and submit the WAHS Schoology application and all required materials by May 1, 2026.
