The importance of U.S. leadership in 5G/6G/NextG technologies for our national security and economic prosperity cannot be overstated, as it not only ensures our technological superiority but also safeguards our digital infrastructure, while fostering innovation and economic growth across various sectors. This session is designed to fortify that leadership through enhanced public-private collaboration. We will initially delve into current technology and policy trends, setting the stage for a comprehensive discussion on long-term collaborative strategies, with MITRE’s Charles Clancy, Ph.D. initiating the conversation.

The initial segment of the session will concentrate on 5G, spectrum management, and ORAN, featuring insights from Andrew Thiessen (MITRE), Juan Ramirez (DoD), John Marinho (CTIA), Paul Ransom, Ph.D. (NTIA), Monisha Ghosh, Ph.D. (Notre Dame), and Amanda Toman (NTIA). Following this, we will shift our focus to the future, with Venki Ramaswamy, Ph.D., (MITRE), Tom Rondeau, Ph.D., (DoD), Caroline Chan (Intel), Luiz DaSilva, Ph.D., (Virginia Tech), and Peter Vetter, Ph.D. (Nokia Bell Labs) sharing their perspectives on the path ahead.
