Vice President, Membership Department
Shaunté Russell is the vice president, Membership. In this capacity, Ms. Russell serves the more than 30,000 members of AFCEA International through its 138 chapters across 30 countries and the more than 1,600 corporate members that comprise AFCEA’s industry membership. Ms. Russell is responsible for the four departments that make up AFCEA’s membership team, which is focused on providing exemplary support to AFCEA’s members and growing the organization’s footprint.
Prior to moving into her current role, Ms. Russell led AFCEA’s corporate membership team where some of her key accomplishments include the implementation of a new membership retention system, record-high corporate membership, identification of new channels to grow the corporate membership base, establishment of long-term relationships within the AFCEA community, and the development and implementation of several new member benefit programs designed to attract, engage and retain members.
Before joining AFCEA, Ms. Russell held positions in industry managing association engagement as well as in government contracting providing support to Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Ms. Russell holds a Bachelor of Science in mass communication with a concentration in public relations and a master’s degree in education.
