Shrader STEM Teacher Grants

The Shrader STEM Teaching Grants were established to support high school educators in advancing innovative, engaging and impactful STEM learning experiences. This grant will provide up to 10 individual teaching grants of up to $3,000 each. Through this program, the AFCEA Educational Foundation seeks to strengthen classroom instruction by funding the development and implementation of creative STEM curriculum, hands-on activities and modern educational technologies. These grants are designed to broaden student exposure to STEM pathways, encourage problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and promote equitable access to high-quality STEM education; particularly within schools demonstrating financial need.
Guidelines for the Shrader STEM Teaching Grant:

Must be currently teaching science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) in grades 9-12 at a U.S. based high school.
- Demonstrate that their school serves a population with a high economic need.
- Submit a detailed proposal outlining the program or area of need including:
- Economic need
- Title and description of project
- Goals and objectives
- Timetable
- Costs and budget with a list of materials purchased
- Number of students impacted
Awardees must agree that AFCEA will be allowed to feature their school projects through photos and stories in their corporate communications and publications. Teachers receiving grants will provide program outcomes and photos of completed projects to be shared in publications and social posts.
- Applications must include a letter of recommendation from their school principal.
- Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis for the 2025/2026 school year.
- Each school is limited to no more than 1 grant for the 2025/2026 program.
