The AFCEA meeting, during the SIITME 2013 International Symposium, confirmed once more the idea that the Romanian university system supports hardworking students. Through the connections facilitated by CETTI, students studying electronic have the chance to better themselves through the financial support and projects offered by AFCEA. Col. Liviu Cosereanu, Ph.D., chapter president, and Dr.h.c. Paul Svasta, Ph.D., a professor and adviser for the AFCEA student club at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, chaired the meeting, which took place in October. Attendees included representatives from AFCEA student clubs from Technical University Cluj-Napoca (adviser Professor Dan Pitica), Politehnica University of Timisoara (adviser Professor Aurel Gontean), Dunarea de Jos University of Galati (adviser Professor Dorel Aiordachioaie) and more than 15 students. BUCURESTI CHAPTER - 03/12/2013
At a chapter dinner in March, founding members, corporate members and the chapter board came together following two days of meetings. Maj. Gen. Klaus-Peter Treche, GEAF (Ret.), general manager for AFCEA Europe, and Petr Jirsek, regional vice president for Central Eastern Europe, visited the chapter and met with chapter officers and founders along with government, academia and industry supporters. Bucharest, the Romanian capital, has a rich history and could potentially host a future event for AFCEA Europe.
