NEW YORK - THE FOUNDERS CHAPTER - 11/13/2024
The chapter's Emerging Leaders Program held its final networking mixer of 2024 in November. In its first year, the chapter held two successful mixers to build a local community and attract new members to AFCEA. Heading into the new year, the chapter looks forward to expanding its events to include guest speakers, mentorship opportunities and more. Stay tuned for the 2025 lineup!

NEW YORK - THE FOUNDERS CHAPTER - 03/29/2024
The chapter's Emerging Leaders program held its inaugural event in March in New York City. The chapter had a fantastic mixer, where professionals connected with one another across defense, technology, cyber, international relations and more. Members also discussed what the Emerging Leaders program has in store for 2024, including but not limited to, networking happy hours, mentor matchmaking and civic engagement. There was tremendous interest in how to join and become more involved with AFCEA. The chapter is looking forward to its next mixer in late spring!

NEW YORK - THE FOUNDERS CHAPTER - 06/17/2022
In a follow-up to AFCEA's Blacks-on-Wall-Street (BoWS) STEM Club Program in underserved high schools, AFCEA supported BoWS's 9th Annual Forum benefiting contest-winning students from Rhode Island, New York City, Chicago, New Orleans and New Jersey.
All were treated to a buffet in an upper floor ballroom, then onto the trading floor to see finance (and cybersecurity) in action. After a New Year's Eve-style closing bell (10 minutes of cheering), it was back to the ballroom for the speakers, panelists and questions from the students.
Five successful information technology and finance professionals discussed how they overcame odds to reach the top of their fields. Students took turns on stage discussing their winning entries. AFCEA presented its benefits for the students. Some engineering-aspiring students even became AFCEA members that day.

NEW YORK - THE FOUNDERS CHAPTER - 07/21/2017
AFCEA New York - The Founders Chapter is the first chapter of AFCEA and was founded in May of 1946. In July, the chapter swore in new board members focused on revitalizing membership by organizing regular meetings, offering learning opportunities and collaborating with other professional organizations. Our membership is comprised of technology services, government and military individuals who are directly or indirectly related to the financial services community.

In August, Danny DeMarinis (r), regional vice president for New York/New Jersey, swears in Felix Ramirez, the new chapter present. DeMarinis then installed the rest of the new officers.
