NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER - 06/09/2016

In June, Dentons, a global law firm, and the Northern California AFCEA Region held an educational meeting in Menlo Park, California. This meeting was held to support the many small Silicon Valley companies that wish to work with the U.S. government and, in particular, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The structure of this six-plus-hour meeting was set around three separate panels consisting of government personnel, contracts and legal professionals, who expressed to attendees ways in which to work with the U.S. government.

At the chapter's December luncheon, 56 Defense Department and industry experts gathered at Travis Air Force Base to hear from guest speaker Mario Sanchez, a registered communications distribution designer with Bergelectric Corporation. The topic of the presentation covered information technology design.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER - 04/30/2013
Col. Patrick Flood, USAF, the 548th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group commander, addresses a packed house at Beale Air Force Base during the chapter's April luncheon. In April, the chapter celebrated its 4th meeting since its reestablishment a year ago. The event was held at the Beale Air Force Base Recce Point Club, where Lt. Col. Sue Magaletta, USAF, chapter vice president, welcomed attendees from several local military organizations, including representatives from Beale and Travis Air Force bases, as well as several industry partners. The meeting included a luncheon and an informal Networking on the Green golf event. Col. Patrick Flood, USAF, the 548th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group commander, served as keynote speaker. In his speech, Col. Flood recalled the Air Force's origins in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and how that heritage continues to fuel military communications-intelligence synergy as an essential element of modern military combat operations.
